Jojit Jay RoyJojit DelaTorre Roy is currently a 3rd year Criminal Justice Major here at San Diego State. After graduation he plans to enroll into the Police Academy then apply to become a D.E.A Special Agent. Born and raised in San Diego, Jojit has continued to try new and adventurous things to inspire a community from making YouTube videos, Twitch Streaming and traveling around the world. Jojit was last year’s Community Affairs Coordinator for AB Samahan and wanted to focus on bringing the AAPI community together by connecting with all organizations and supporting each event hosted. Since then, he has created strong bonds with each AAPI organization on campus that he will cherish for the rest of his life. Some of his favorite things to do are travel, dance, play video games and film.

Ariele Grande“Hey, hi, hello you stellar APSAdians.” ❤
When she was a transfer student at SDSU, Ariele Grande served APSA as Activities Assistant in 2014-2015 and as President in 2015-2016. She also served AAPIC as Public Relations Officer 2014-2015 and pledged Alpha Phi Omega Fall 2016, Rho Class. It was through her various forms of involvement with the AAPI community that her passion for representation, storytelling, leadership, service and breaking down the model minority stereotype blossomed into some of the core values that drive her today. After graduating with an A.S. in Liberal Studies from Columbia College spring 2013 and a B.A. in Communication from SDSU last December, she now works with the community outreach and marketing team for the Pacific Arts Movement, the largest media arts organization in North America that focuses on Asian American and Asian international cinema. 50 years from now, Ariele wants to be able to say that she never settled for an ordinary life and stayed true to herself by turning her many, little ambitions into great and empowering actions. Some of what she plans to do in the future include obtaining her M.A. in Leadership and Organizational Management, experiencing different cultures by traveling the world, adopting as many dogs as possible, and opening a modest cafe with big windows, lots of string lights, and succulents with Nathan one day. |

“3 years ago, APSA ignited a spark that burned down the walls hiding a timid and ignorant version of me. In doing so, APSA enabled me to overcome and grow into the empowered first generation Filipinx-American womxn I am today. I am humbled and excited to host FTS for the organization that truly transformed my life. Quick thank you’s go out to: Danny’s Eboard, for giving me a home and making me feel like I belonged; Tavi’s Eboard, for challenging me to grow and for making me more grounded; my own ExecFam1516, for the #wootwoot, for never giving up on us and staying the optimistic bunch I looked forward to seeing everyday of our year together; and to Dang Chau, Arlynn Adamos and Nathan’s E^2 kiddos, for the fierce passion and ambitions I seeing burning brightly inside each and every one of you.
